euROBIN at ERF2024

We are very glad to announce that euROBIN will be present at #ERF2024 with an outstanding booth where you will be able to meet our #Robots, our latest #innovation and the good people behind it.

To do so, we have carefully prepared joint and individual robotics demos of all the robots we will have there, like these nice guys:

-ANYmal: ANYmal is a quadrupedal robot designed for autonomous operation in challenging environments. Driven by special precisely torque-controllable actuators, the robot platform is capable of dynamic running and climbing in difficult terrain. Thanks to incorporated LIDAR and depth cameras, ANYmal can perceive its environment, accurately localize itself, autonomously plan its navigation path and carefully select footholds while walking¹.

-David: The main focus in the development of David is to get as close to human capabilities as possible − especially in terms of dynamics, dexterity and robustness. The robot will operate in an environment designed for humans, such as a kitchen. It will use everyday objects such as cups, plates, and cutlery. Consequently, David has a size comparable to humans, and it also has a similar range of motion. Its humanoid shape should enable intuitive operation and programming. All joints of the fingers can be controlled individually and thus give the system an extraordinarily high dexterity.

-TIAgo: is the mobile manipulator robot that combines perception, navigation, manipulation and interaction skills between humans and robots that allow to go beyond what is defined. The mobile manipulator adapts both to research fields and to environments where it is necessary to carry out healthcare tasks, through areas of Health or manufacturing industry².

-KIT: KIT ARMAR-6 is a collaborative humanoid assistant robot for industrial environments. It can interact with humans and provide help when needed in a proactive way. The robot is the 6th generation and youngest member of the ARMAR family of humanoid robots developed at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). Thanks to its humanoid shape, it can use tools designed for humans, such as power drills and hammers. With its artificial intelligence capabilities, it can autonomously perform maintenance tasks in industrial facilities, recognize the need of help of its collaboration partner, and offer assistance. The robot has been designed to be versatile in its capabilities to allow acting in situations that are not foreseen at programming time.

Also, we have prepared daily tours with experts to help you discovering euROBIN robotics innovations. Some of the experts we will have around are top robotics scientist as:
  • euROBIN project coordinators from DLR, Deutsches Zentrum für Luft und Raumfahrt: Alin Albu-Schaeffer and Rebecca Schedl-Warpup
  • TUM, Technical University Munich, Dr. Abdalla Swikir
  • Uni Bremen: Prof. Michael Beetz
  • IIT: Nikolaos Tsagarakis
  • C.R.E.A.T.E.: Vincenzo Lipiello
Also, don't forget the workshop "Transferability in Robotics" organized by Aude G. Billard and Danica Kragic, that will take place during the 🤖 European Robotics Forum (#ERF) in Rimini, on 📅 Friday 15 March, 11:40 - 13:00, Room Tempio 1.

Everything under the direction of the magnificient Alessandro Settimi from Uni Pisa, who has been in charge of putting together an incredible amount of work, so the european robotics ecosystem, that we are part of as a #NetworkOfExcellence, can enjoy of euROBIN latest innovations at ERF2024.

If you want to meet euROBIN staff, learn more about robots and humans, know more about our work, drop by the coolest booth in ERF2024 :)

See you there in a couple of weeks!
