Manipulation Skill Versatility Challenge- IROS 2024 in Abu Dhabi- October 15-17, 2024.

We would like to announce the Manipulation Skill Versatility Challenge, an euROBIN event, to develop transferable robot skills for the circular economy taking place at IROS 2024 in Abu Dhabi October 15-17, 2024.

Versatility refers to the ability to adapt to new situations and environments.
Versatility is also arguably the ability humans have repeatedly demonstrated to master and shape their environment.

As robot systems are becoming increasingly intelligent, we want to assess how robot platforms acquire and transfer knowledge to new situations. In the spirit of the conference's theme of sustainability, we have devised a challenge to measure manipulation skill transferability using competition task boards and a series of end-of-life objects to disassemble from electronic waste streams to promote automation in the circular economy.

Successful teams will be able to use their robot platform to autonomously locate objects on a table, grasp and insert objects, open doors and probe circuits with a multimeter probe, and demonstrate good cable management.

Call for Teams!

To participate, assemble a team of up to four people and submit an application to our Call for Teams on at this link or on our website.

We are looking for teams who can provide their own robot platform and have demonstrated experience using the platform to solve various manipulation tasks
Both academic and professional teams are welcome to apply.

The Call for Teams is now open until July 19, 2024. Selected teams will receive a competition task board in the mail to develop robot skills in their own lab and will be invited to present their robot solutions live to the Expert Jury and audience during the IROS conference in Abu Dhabi.
